It lies 40 km from Ortahisar, the central district of Trabzon. The district covers an area of 125 km². The average elevation of the district centre above sea level is 779 metres.

History

In the records of 1850, the settlement appeared as a village attached to Akçaabat under the name Haçka. It had 116 households, of which 82% were Muslim and 18% Christian. While it was a municipality attached to Akçaabat district, it gained district status under law no. 3644 dated 9 May 1990.

Geography

The district has a dispersed settlement pattern, with each family building its house at the edge of its own field or garden. Plateaus and hamlets are important for population movements.

History and Culture

Düzköy gained status as an independent district in 1990. Haçka village became the centre of the Düzköy subdistrict in 1943.
