How This Guide Is Made
This guide covers all 81 provinces of Türkiye, grouped into the country's seven geographical regions. Every province has three pages: places to visit, famous local dishes and regional products, and how to get there.
Each province page has been researched individually. Sights are checked against museum directorates, municipalities, UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Kültür Portalı; population and area figures come from TÜİK, the Turkish Statistical Institute; and regional products are checked against the geographical indication register of TÜRKPATENT, the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Anything that turns out to be wrong is removed, and nothing is added without a source.
The English edition is translated from our original Turkish guide. The region pages ( Marmara , Aegean , Mediterranean , Central Anatolia , Black Sea , Eastern Anatolia , Southeastern Anatolia ) give an overview before you dive into individual provinces.
